how to use swingame with mono

I'm attempting to use swingame on a non intel mac now I'm very new to programming and have practically no knowledge of how to even use an ide. I can write code into the ide but further than that I haven't got a clue.
I tried copying the swingame folders into mono and I could open vb.gamelogic (after much guess work and navigation) I tried running, building, compiling, debugging, compiling, building, running.
But no matter what I did mono kept telling me that debug could not have the value none after much more navigation i found how to change that and then it didn't recognize the vb.resources folder unfortunately I don't really no what I'm doing and would appreciate clear detailed instructions on how SETUP and USE swingame while using MONODEVELOP.
Again I will appreciate help using monodevelop.

What kind of machine are you running this on, and which operating system?

If you are using MacOS or Linux then the best option is to have a look at the new version 3. While it is still in development it is possible to create projects more easily on these platforms. Have a look at compiling from the command line using the build.sh script.

Hope that helps.
