Now that the heat is off...

I was wondering how many people actually entered Swingame? Also, a question to the other competitors: - Now that everything is over, what would you do differently next time? It's hard to find other people our age that are interested in actually making games. This may be a little premature, but I was...

Re: 3d Cutscenes

I am by no means an official member of swinburne. However. I would argue that "2D" would mean that the game is -playable- in 2 dimensions. I think the aim of the restriction is to pull the programming focus away from 3d rendering techniques. So, if your cutscenes are pre-rendered in 3D, th...

Re: Our Plans

I'd really like to see more features in the way we can draw to the screen. I know I've already mentioned runtime bitmap scaleing, but I think another cool feature would to be able to define how transparent to draw a bitmap. eg. Graphics.DrawBitmap( Bitmap , PositionX , PositionY , Width , Height , T...

Re: Butterman, progress is good.

Well I'm not going to say too much right now, as things could easily change. However, Butterman is currently a 2D Platform game that involves progressing through a level by means of running and jumping off the floors/walls. The speed in which you complete the level will be the scoring system. One of...

Butterman, progress is good.

Well, my team has been working on our project "Butterman" for several weeks now. We've been approved by our school yesterday, and so I thought that I should give an update on our progress, seeming as we're official now. Our artist is working heavily in Adobe illustrator right now, we've ch...

Ok, sounds good.

It's not too much hassle anyway, my team was already building the sprites in high-res.

Thanks for your help again.

Great! Thanks for the quick reply!

I wasn't thinking of using a different method of drawing to the screen. I was more thinking of using the math functions and the rectangle variable type.

Thanks

A couple questions

Firstly, I'd like to thank Swinburne for such a great initiative! Onto the questions, 1. If I program my game in C#, am I allowed to use Microsoft's .NET framework in conjunction with the SDK? 2. If I choose not to use some of the functions in the SDK, and prefer to write my own, will my score be ne...

Scaling bitmaps?

Not sure if the right place to post this, however I couldn't find a more applicable area. My background is in the Microsoft XNA framework. One feature that XNA has that I haven't been able to find in the Swinburne SDK is the ability to scale a bitmap during runtime. Basically I want to have all my r...
